* what is your favourite time of the day *
That has to be the evening going into the night. I’m a night owl. Don’t get me wrong, I function perfectly during the mornings and afternoons but after a certain time I get creative. And after a busy day I love settling down with a tea and a magazine or lately walking around in Blog land.
* where and when did you meet the love of your life *
Oooh, that sounds so sweet….. It was 1991, we met at work, we were young, became best friends, waited a few years and then we jumped with both feet into the love boat and never looked back.
* what 3 words would your friends outside the blogging world use to describe you *
Well, I asked around and they came up with: Loyal, Energy giver, Straight forward, Dedicated to family, and Busy (I can be a bit over-enthusiastic…)
* what country would you like to visit and why *
That’s an easy one, Australia! I love to read or watch everything I can about the Land Down Under. There are so many different sides to explore, beach life, country side, city living, the sun, the friendly people, the culture and history… I can go on, and on! For now I’m in the process of batting my eyelashes to Sweetheart, hopefully he will cave in. There’s only a tiny problem, my family doesn’t want me to set foot there, because I probably don’t want to come back….
* what is your favourite dish to cook *
Ha! That’s also easy…. I don’t have a favourite dish to cook, because I don’t like cooking! I suck at it… I love to eat good food, and I cook (and burn) the normal things, like dishes with pasta, rice, meat, vegetables etc, but to me that’s not really cooking. Cooking, like from scratch, to me is the equivalent of stress. So I cook but not because I love it…. And yes, I know, here in Blog land it seems like I’ve landed in Cooking Heaven….. I probably wasn’t paying attention when the cooking skills where handed out….
* salt or sugar *
Mmmh,…..difficult….. I love sugar and sweet things, but sometimes I really need to put more salt on my food. But if I have to choose, I would go for brown sugar, cakes, cookies, chocolates, yumm! *big smile on my face now!*
* what are your must-have make-up or beauty items *
Well, I could say ” I don’t leave the house without it”, but honestly, I don’t use make-up….. Ok, not totally true, I sometimes use black mascara and I cannot leave the bathroom without using Nivea bodylotion. I use Nivea since I was a child. Actually, I love many bodylotions if they have a nice smell. I’m a bit allergic to parfume so it’s a good alternative for me. And here in Switzerland the water makes my skin very dry, so I have to use bodylotion more then once on my hands. So must-have number one item is my Nivea bodylotion. Although I got L’oreal Revitalift for my 40th birthday, I probably will have to start using that someday soon….
* what are your favourite flowers *
All white flowers are my favourite and my best! But I also love flowers in the pink or blue family, specially in summertime.
* what are your worst vices…. honestly *
Honestly? I can be very impatient. And precise and chaotic at the same time. I say things like it is, and I can be sarcastic when it’s not appropriate….Also my eyebrow-rolling-upwards-move is something I have to work on harder, it’s getting better. And I…., oh, I think this is enough for now…. But other then that , I’m really very nice, honestly……
* at what time of your life where you happiest and why *
Difficult….., let’s see,… There were so many times that I was happy, in different stages in my life, but being a mum to my girls, that gives me so much moments of happiness (even though they test my patience but it comes with the territory). And when Sweetheart and I have a break of the daily life together, well that’s a big smile on my face! Also thinking about a lot of trips I made with my friend P. (there were many hilarious moments) or my surprise visit when my other friend A. had her 40th b-day (the look on her face, perfect!), also being with family and my other friends when we go back to Amsterdam makes me very happy!
Oh, and when I had my own little company and I was mentioned in the magazines, that made me not only happy but proud as well. Frankly, it’s a whole bunch of special moments in my life that are making me happy, so I don’t have just one.
I’m a lucky girl…. or, woman, which one is it when you are 40 and two weeks?
I think I’m going to stick with girl…
